Welcome to IQRA. If you're visiting this blog space, we'll assume that you are interested in being a part of real literacy change for Africa and beyond. Unlike most organizations, IQRA's genesis is a direct result of Africa's immediate need for educational reform. To this effect, I.Q.R.A. formally stands for "Invest in the Quest to Reform Africa". As implied in the name, IQRA explicitly calls everyone and anyone who is in the slightest way concerned about the stunted growth anticipated and already being experienced in Africa due to poor and ineffective educational standards. Starting with Nigeria, IQRA aims to ensure that in the long run each and every child in Africa recieves a globally sound education.
Objective:
To develop a community based alliance that will involve using available resources to provide primary education to every child. IQRA’s mission is to ensure that by the year 2020, most if not all of every child in Nigeria; West Africa has the opportunity to primary education by educating parents, providing funds for graduating students and a long term goal of funding a child’s entire education
About the Founder :
Hailing from humble beginnings, Aishat Adeniji knows first hand the impact of quality education. While education is not the only road to success, she profoundly believes that it is one of the most stable paths to achieving one's dreams. Aishat Adeniji is a Registered Nurse, currently working on a Master's degree and simultaneously investing uncountable hours in ensuring that I.Q.R.A. fulfills its original purpose. Ms. Adeniji does not "believe in having a fat bank account when there are numerous bright minds out there being deprived of reaching their full potentials due to a flawed educational system". Drawing upon her home country, Nigeria as a case study, Aisha observes that even the smallest contrbution (i.e. donation of books, pens, pencils) can be the difference between an educated child and an uneducated one.
